Blackstone Plaza Wins Deal of the Year

Omaha, Nebraska (August 26, 2022) Every year, the CRE Summit recognizes its Deal of the Year, an honor given to impactful developments and transactions. Criteria for this award include size, scope, investment, complexity and potential influence on future development activity.

Blackstone Plaza is honored to receive this award. The 15-story, 240,000-square-foot building located at 36^th and Farnam streets and modernized by The Lund Company offers revamped offices and the return of, The Cloud Room. It also serves as the new home for local NBC affiliate WOWT.

To bring this all together, The Lund Company worked with architects, attorneys and contractors to separate an attached two-story space from the 15-story tower. The team eventually formed a condominium regime. “It’s not every day that a developer has to envision a way to separate two attached buildings from one another to meet ownership mandates,” said John F. Lund, Founder and CEO of The Lund Company.

All these intricate and novel solutions were deployed in just 19 months – spanning from purchase to WOWT occupancy.
